Maunga Maanda and Associates t/a Commercial Law and Human Rights Chambers was
established in 2005 as Maunga and Associates but rebranded to its current name in 2009.
The firm provides quality legal services primarily to the corporate world, small businesses,
Government sectors, State private enterprises and defends human rights. Our principal goal
is meeting the diverse legal needs of large or small businesses, institutional clients and the
indigent members of our society.
The firm serves as Counsel of choice to major corporations, privately owned companies and
non-governmental organizations in areas of corporate law, real estate management,
litigation, labour and employment law, personal injury law, estate administration and town
planning law as well as taxation law, municipal and public law, human rights, family law,
banking law and contract compliance. The firm also participates in high profile criminal
cases in defense of accused persons in addition to representing the indigent. The firm is
also prominent in the area of Human Rights Litigation with particular bias in social,
cultural and economic rights.
The firm’s clients benefit from a wealth of experience and resources that its legal
practitioners have developed in handling complex legal matters from single actions, small tolarge financial transactions and single commercial transactions.
We have chambers in Harare and Mutare which boasts of a combined seven (7) lawyers.
Maunga Maanda and Associates presently carries on practice in Harare and Mutare as a
partnership of three [3] legal practitioners, two (2) associates, two (2) consultants. We also
believe in in-house training of lawyers and currently, the firm has one (1) student who
joined the firm after her Advanced Level and is currently doing her law degree with the
Midlands State University. The firm also regularly takes law students on attachment as part
of in-house training. The firm is organized into eight major practice areas namely:

The firm’s current clients include corporations, banks, hotels, insurance companies, public companies, small and big private limited companies pursuing different business objectives in
commerce and industry, parasternal bodies, State private enterprises, non-governmental organizations, estate agents, trusts, individuals and human rights defenders.
All its lawyers are registered legal practitioners with a right of audience in all courts of the country.
Our Legal Charges & Pricing Policy
We deliver quality services and give our clients good value for money.
We encourage our clients to discuss the question of our fees. Whenever possible our professional team indicates the basis of our legal charges from the onset.
Our fees, in line with the Law Society Tariff, are based on time spent on the job, the complexity of the matter and the value to client, in addition to the Law Society recommended tariff for other work which is not litigation related.
We regularly bill clients by stating the attendances done.
